Susan Heller Evenson
A native Seattleite, Susan began her coffee career as a barista while a student at the University of Washington. In 2006, she was exposed to the production and sourcing side of coffee through her husband, then a head coffee roaster at a Seattle-based coffee company.
Susan has worked at Atlas for nearly a decade in various roles, including sales and roaster relations, hedging and futures, and now trading and position management. Equal parts Excel geek and coffee lover, Susan manages the coffee buying at Atlas for most of the Great Lakes Africa region (Uganda, Rwanda, DRCongo, Burundi, and Tanzania) along with India and Myanmar, and does a fair bit of data wrangling as well. Outside of the office, Susan loves running, reading, and getting into the mountains, and lives in Seattle with her husband and two sons.
